Project description:

Sao Paulo has launched a $691.8m social housing project to build more than 10,000 affordable homes in the state’s capital city.

The housing initiative will be located in the area of Fazenda Albor in Sao Paulo, where more than 1.7m sq m will be urbanised with 10,480 new houses.   

Under a 25-year concession the private sector will invest $677.8m (BRL 2.1bn) while the government will be investing $14m (BRL 43,9m).  

To house over 40,000 citizens, the first houses are expected to be completed in three years and the whole project over the next seven years.   

Other works will involve construction of water, sewage and drainage systems as well as paving and installing public lighting. It will also involve the planning of public facilities such as health centers and schools.

Interested parties will have 90 days to submit proposals to the Sao Paulo’s Department of Housing.
