Deadline postponed for Cali bioenergy P3

19 May 2017 A Californian water district has postponed the deadline for the receipt of letters of interest for its bioenergy P3.

Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) will be accepting submissions until 4pm on June 16 from bidders interested in designing, building, financing, owning, operating and maintaining a full-scale bioenergy facility in the San Francisco Bay Area. The previous deadline had been May 31.

Under the contract, the winner will provide renewable energy (2.8MW) to Central San’s wastewater treatment plant and process a portion of undigested wastewater solids.

The authority reserves the option to purchase the facility at an advanced stage of the contract.

Contrary to what had been stated in the original RFI, Central San is also interested in bioenergy technologies that have been successfully developed at full-scale outside of the US.
