FDOT selects winner for I-395

12 May 2017 The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced the winner of its I-395 bridge project in Miami.

The Archer Western-de-Moya Joint Venture has been awarded the contract, which beat of bids from rivals the Fluor-Astaldi-MCM team and the Miami Community Builders JV.

FDOT confirmed that the winning team's bid came in under the maximum allowable budget of $802m and reduced the maximum allowable contract time by a year.

Following the decision, the team will now oversee rebuilding of the I-395 corridor to increase capacity and improve safety. New elevated ramps, one for both the east and west directions, will provide a direct link between I-95 and I-395. The project includes building a Signature Bridge over Biscayne Boulevard. In addition to the Signature Bridge, the project will provide enhanced streetscape design in the areas underneath the bridge.
